Time Team – Wytch Farm (Dorset)

Back in September of 2023, we were all involved in the Time Team dig at Wytch Farm near Corfe Castle in Dorset.

As a backdrop for Time Team’s 30th Birthday dig, it’s hard to think of anywhere that beats Corfe Castle! The sad part is that because (as ever) it’s always so busy on a shoot, no-one got the opportunity to visit the castle. Maybe a return visit is needed (outside of a Time Team event), since the landscape down in Dorset is really quite exceptional.

The site turned out to be challenging too, but I think the team did it justice despite the weather on the final day!

A full length feature episode has just been released on YouTube.

Time Team – Modbury

Back in June of 2023 the team were part of the Time Team community dig in Modbury (Devon). The programme is now in production so we can’t say much about it other than it was a fantastic experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed!

As with all these digs, the programme will be free to watch on YouTube once it’s released. In the meantime, if you want to watch the ‘behind the scenes’ footage (Dig Watch) that was filmed during the event, you’ll need to become a Patreon subscriber. You can subscribe here.

Once the programme has been released we’ll share some stories and photographs from the event.

UPDATE October 2024 – The feature length episode is now on YouTube.

Time Team – 2022 Digs

It’s getting close to that time of year where we get busy preparing for and taking part in the latest Time Team digs. We all have our individual roles to play, but what makes Time Team so special is the team spirit that exists when everyone works together towards a common goal.

You may hear other members of the team saying the same, but it’s very true that you’re often so engrossed in doing what you are there for, that you’ve no idea what goes on elsewhere. We all look forward to the programme to see just what it was all about!

Anyway, preparations are well underway and we’re looking forward to meeting some old friends again.

In case you missed it, Time Team has been brought back thanks to subscribers on Patreon. If you’re passionate about the programme consider signing up at https://www.patreon.com/TimeTeamOfficial, there are varying levels of subscription to suit everyone. Regardless of subscription, the final programme will always be freely available on YouTube. Here are the links to last year’s digs.

‘Reading the Landscape’ – Masterclass

Many thanks to all who attended the recent Masterclass hosted at Epiacum Roman Fort. We were blessed with possibly the hottest weather we’ve ever experienced on a Masterclass, the waterproofs remained in the rucksack at all times!

We hope you all enjoyed the experience and had both a fun and informative weekend. We’d like to thank everyone at Epiacum Heritage for all their hard work in organising and making the event work so well.
